Allison Lukanich
Allison Lukanich is an attorney with Sessoms Law Group. She is licensed in the state of North Carolina since 2012 and is a North Carolina Board Certified Expert in Immigration Law. Allison has worked in immigration law since becoming a licensed attorney. Her focus is on both family-based immigration, with an emphasis on complicated adjustment of status cases and waivers of inadmissibility and removal defense, as well as humanitarian visas.
Her passion for immigration law began following a summer she lived in Queretaro, Mexico to learn Spanish as a teenager. Being immersed in the people and culture, it encouraged her to help others achieve their version of the American dream. She subsequently lived in Santiago, Chile and San Jose, Costa Rica to become fluent in Spanish.
Outside of the practice of immigration law, Allison has enjoyed mentoring and teaching others as an Adjunct Professor of Immigration Law at her alma mater, Elon University in Greensboro, North Carolina. She has spoken and taught a number of Continuing Legal Education courses in various areas of immigration law including asylum, marriage-based adjustments of status, and waivers of inadmissibility. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
When she is not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, which includes her two children and three rescue dogs.
