Kamala W. Sessoms

Ms. Sessoms is the founding and managing partner of Sessoms Law Group, LLC. Originally from Michigan, she moved to Atlanta in 2004 after graduating from Michigan State College of Law. She is a highly skilled attorney dedicated to complex immigration matters involving criminal charges, as well as personal injury cases arising from car and truck accidents.
Ms. Sessoms began her legal career as a public defender with the Conflict Defender’s Office, where she successfully represented hundreds of clients in cases ranging from DUI and battery to theft and traffic offenses. In 2009, leveraging her criminal law background, she founded Kamala Sessoms, LLC, with the vision of helping clients navigate both criminal and immigration issues.
Her practice centers on the intersection of immigration and criminal law. She has handled family-based immigration, humanitarian visas for crime victims, and business visas for investors and entrepreneurs. On the criminal side, she specializes in DUI defense and motor vehicle accident cases, negotiating numerous six- and seven-figure settlements for injured clients. Known for her zealous advocacy, she ensures her clients feel informed and supported throughout the legal process.
Ms. Sessoms is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (GA-AL chapter) and has volunteered with the Latin American Association for Citizenship Day. She has spoken publicly on pressing immigration topics, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and family immigration law. She also hosts radio shows on El Patrón 105.3 FM, covering criminal law, and La Raza 102.3 FM, where she addresses immigration, criminal defense, and personal injury issues.
Beyond her legal work, Ms. Sessoms is a world traveler who has explored countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America, including Japan, Singapore, the UAE, Mexico, Nicaragua, England, France, Ecuador, Canada, Morocco, Spain, and Colombia. She enjoys immersing herself in diverse cultures wherever she visits.
Her civic involvement includes attending The White House Project, Women’s Campaign School at Yale University, National Day of Action to lobby legislators with AILA colleagues. She is also an active member of Antioch Baptist Church North. In her free time, she enjoys hot yoga, swimming, reading, horseback riding, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her family.
